What are we talking about here? Never heard of it.
That’s because this is something that makes our work unique! You may have heard of this referred to as walk and talk therapy or ecotherapy. This form of therapy sessions can look many ways and can be perfect for those who want to meet in person, or want to add in another level of effort. Maybe part of what you need is to get out, get some air, go for a walk, feed the ducks, or just sit on a private bench with a cup of coffee. Part of the fun is figuring out how you define self-care and how to make the most out of our time together.
You will find out quickly that I practice and preach self-care. In fact, I’m slipping if a session goes by where it isn’t at least a side note of encouragement. These days there are SO many definitions of self-care. It is frequently talked about and has quickly become part of pop culture. I LOVE that, but I also know that it means the definition changes from person to person. For our purposes, I define self-care as something planned and intentional that brings you even a little bit of joy while doing it and leaves you feeling even a little rejuvenated when complete.
The point is, therapy doesn’t have to be on the couch, or closed in by four walls. Nature and the atmosphere can really shift a mood and change a perspective. It can be the only way you want to have a session or it can be supplemental to the video work we are already doing. Have additional questions? Find more answers here or let’s schedule a time to chat.
