Couples Therapy

Have you found yourself working hard to connect but feeling like those efforts are lost? Are you stuck in a pattern of communication that feels fruitless?

Do you feel like your relationship is at a standstill? Are you and your partner stuck in the same argument loop every night? Do you feel like you and your partner are drifting away? Do you desire more intimacy between you and your partner?

All things can be improved, changed and bettered, with just a little support, no matter how big or small. With couples therapy, you’ll learn how to communicate your feelings and needs; you will be able to learn tangible ways to connect, and we will work to bring you out of unhealthy patterns of communication and into the relationship you desire.

Some reasons couples seek therapy are:

  • Find more balance with family/work/life
  • Increase general unhappiness with connection/communication
  • Gain an equitable workload – have fair roles and responsibilities
  • Improve communication/reduce tension
  • To have unmet needs and desires addressed
  • Learn healthy ways to argue
  • Work through conflict and disagreements
  • Prevent separation or divorce
  • Understand self or partner better
  • Change gridlock patterns/thematic arguments (often about sex/intimacy, finances, parenting, etc.)
  • Discuss parenting concerns or issues
  • Work through challenges of a blended family and find cohesion
  • Find healthy ways to manage issues with extended family
  • Overcome infidelity/cheating
  • Improve sex/intimacy
  • Discuss premarital readiness
  • Manage challenges of a long distance relationship

If any of these sound like something you are facing in your relationship, let’s chat.  In our sessions, you will learn some of the biggest predictors of divorce AND their antidotes. I can show you how to handle conflict in your marriage by helping you develop better communication skills, learn conflict management, uncover your shared core values as well as identify differences that could create future conflict.  We can get you connecting and communicating with empathy and love and back into the relationship you desire.

Do you have more questions about how couples therapy works? Feel free to check out some answers on the FAQs page here.
